Our speaker will be Tina E. Boyd, Communications and Resource Development Specialist for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Greater Prince William. CASA was started by a Seattle judge in 1977. He saw that many children were getting lost in the judicial system and falling through the cracks. There are now nearly 30 programs in Virginia and over 900 nationwide to help these children in crisis.

CASA of Greater Prince WilliamTina will speak about their new Adopt a Child Program and their largest fundraiser Evening Under the Stars. Tina’s experience negotiating with all levels of business owners and C-level personnel gives her a well-rounded perspective regarding business goals and frameworks for profit and non-profit sectors. Tina’s experience spans healthcare, education, non-profit, insurance and communications.

Tina received her MBA with an emphasis in marketing from Marymount University, Arlington, VA., and her BA of Business Administration from Marymount University. She is on the board of the Evergreen Manor House Preservations Fund as the Fundraising Chair, co-founder of WINGS (Women in God’s Spirit), a local charitable organization, past Board Member for Walk America, Past president of the Virginia Association of Health underwriters.

Spotlight | Our own HGBA board Vice President Donna Wood

In addition to HGBA, Donna currently serves on the board of Breast Cancer Network of Strength, a national breast cancer organization, and she is a Past President of the Executive Women's Golf Association's DC Metro Chapter. She is also a member of the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA) Personal Financial Planning section, the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and is an active member of her church. Lion & Bull graciously hosted our June meeting and did a great job as usual.

Thanks to our June speaker, Mike D. Lubeley, Esq. of WALSH COLUCCI LUBELEY EMRICH & WALSH who spoke about "Zoning and Status of Development in Western Prince William County"

He covered an amazing amount of information and took us on a tour North of I66, Route 29, and Innovation/Route 28. The attendees learned about new and tabled plans for everything from Dominion Valley to Heathcote, Haymarket Village and Crossing, Madison Crescent, Virginia Gateway, Wellington Glen, Bristow and much more.

Winners of door prizes were, Dave Stinson and Dianne Lemanski for wine tastings at The Winery at La Grange and Donna Wood goes home with a "green" HGBA stainless water bottle, handy on the links.
