Networking Primer
Our first joint Meeting between the HGBA and the Greater Warrenton Chamber of Commerce was a great success. Thanks to who came out to Barrel Oak Winery.
Amelia Stansell, Assistant Vice President and Financial Center Leader for BB&T’s Heathcote Branch in Haymarket, Virginia and our own Association president facilitated a networking workshop. The topics were very informative, insightful and useful.
Highlights included:
- Identify who Is In your network by creating a spider chart. Try making a graphic chart of your LinkedIn or Facebook connections.
- Find the best fit for networking through research, smart questions, and visits.
- How to make the most of an organization: before, during and after the visit.
- Training your clients and centers of influence to give you referrals
- Networking faux pas
- Business etiquette
She wrapped up the presentation with a very important point “You must be present to win!”
