Winter Warm UP! Drive from the The Greater Chamber's Education Committee is in full swing.

This drive will provide the area’s neediest students with badly needed winter clothing that they will otherwise go without. For just $10, one child will receive an appropriate sized sweatshirt, sweatpants, knit cap and winter gloves. All items purchased will be distributed to students in schools and area shelters in Prince William County. Last winter we were able to help over 500 children stay warm – with your help we can help even more this year. Simply click on the “Add to Basket” link below to get started.

Click here to make a donation > It's quick, easy and less than the cost of lunch for two.

Trend Tidbits
Retail — Retailers are still not stocking up inventory after last year. Good idea or shortsighted? You decide. Read the Chicago Tribune article>
Social — What tweety words get passed around over the din of chatter? Read here from Fast Company >

September wrap-up.
Gracing your way through a networking or social event, often referred to as "Working a Room" was the topic du jour. It matters more than we want to admit. Thank you to Joe Martin, who gave us insight on business protocol amidst a cozy basement at The Winery at la Grange replete with hearty jugs of sangria.
Some suggestions included:

- Smile
- Don't complain
- Have a SHORT pitch ready when you are asked "So what do you do?"
- Listen
- Let others into your chat circle
- Move around, find that new person all alone and introduce yourself
- Dress the part
- Thank your hosts
