How long have you been at your current job, why did you choose your firm?
I started my agency in Feb 2003. After graduating from Radford University, I worked for Erie Insurance as an adjuster. After 4 years of adjusting claims, I decided it was time for a change, so I moved into IT sales.
I sold computer hardware and software to the Army for 3 years. Although I was working, traveling, and having fun, I didn’t feel like I was working on a career; I felt like I was just working for another company.
I had always wanted to run my own business, and since I had experience in the insurance industry, still had good relations with Erie Insurance, and was an Erie insured, opening an insurance agency representing Erie Insurance seemed like the best fit for me and I haven’t looked back since.
How does your business serve the Haymarket-Gainesville community?
We are licensed to conduct business in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia, we have many clients that live in the Haymarket-Gainesville area.

Please share one of the greatest moments you’ve experienced in your business.
One of the greatest moments in my business was in Feb 2004; I purchased an agency that had been in business since 1979.
Please share a few business tips you have learned that would benefit other business owners and professionals.
You should treat others how you want to be treated. You can spend all the money you want on marketing, but a referral from an existing client remains the best source of new business.

For me, the primary benefit of being an HGBA member is the opportunity to network with other business professionals.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I would live in any tropical paradise, provided it doesn' rain as much as it has here recently.
If you could be famous, what would you want to be known for?
I would want to be known as a professional sports car racer.
