Battlefiled Hgh School Career Fair | Thursday, November 19th 7-8:30 pm

We want to get students and parents talking about the wide variety of career opportunities available and thinking about the related education and training required for a given career path.

To make this Career Fair a resounding success we are extending invitations to a wide variety of career representatives in following fields.

  • Arts
  • Audio/visual technology
  • Communications
  • Business, management and administration
  • Finance
  • Government and public administration
  • Information technology
  • Marketing, sales and service
  • Transportation, distribution and logistics

The format of the Fair will focus on sharing the following with the students and parents.

  • Discussing your current job
  • What was your career progression
  • How did you prepare for your career while attending high school
  • In hindsight, what did you wish you had done
  • The education, training and specific experience your job requires
  • Average earnings for some positions in your field
  • Discuss related careers; for instance, a dentist can explain what a dental assistant does

Since we want to introduce students and parents to a wide variety of career ideas, there is no need to bring corporate hand outs or company banners. The students are not going to expeect offers of summer or after school jobs.

If there are career tools or equipment to help illustrate what you do they are welcome.
At our Career Fair in March, those who spoke about medical imaging brought an x-ray box, the law enforcement brought a bomb sniffing dog, and the court reporters brought their transcribing equipment.

We look firward to your participation, please contact Emily McPhie, the NOVA Career Coach at Battlefield High School, at emcphie@nvcc.edu.
